Salmon Fishing Scotland Quality Spring salmon caught on the Tay, Perthshire April 2015.

Salmon Fishing Scotland Quality Spring salmon caught on the Tay, Perthshire April 2015.

Tayside has seen outstanding Easter weather over the last few days with wall to wall sunshine. The river temperature has risen dramatically and spring salmon are running hard throughout the system as catches have been recorded up and down the river. The quality of spring salmon caught has been outstanding as the mighty Tay produces some mighty salmon.
This was a superb 31 pounds springer caught on the Taymount beat today by Geoff Coates under the assistance of ghillie Mike Brown and it took an hour to land. Well done all, great news for the river. A further 30 pounds fish was also reported at Findynate today weighing 32 pounds but as yet no pictures.

The smaller fish are just as valuable as a proud Peter shows his delight. It was a great start to the week with over twenty spring salmon registered today. I hope this is kept up for the whole week.
